“It’s about celebrating the importance of cooking good food from scratch and raising awareness of how it impacts our health and happiness – we believe that everyone should know about food and it starts with getting kids food smart, making cooking fun and inspiring a love of food that will last a lifetime.” – Taken from the FRD Website.
These words hit close to home as Veggiecation was founded on very similar same principals. We know, firsthand, the importance of engaging children in the cooking process as a way of changing their eating habits.
That is why we are always eager and thrilled to take part in Food Revolution Day! This year, in honor of this global day of action, we held six 45-minute cooking classes at PS 55 in the Bronx, NY throughout the May 16th event. We made the official FRD recipe, a Rainbow Cabbage Salad Wrap, with each group and the kids LOVED it! Take a look at some of our favorite photos from the event!
