For anyone who doesn’t know, Tower Gardens are a hydroponic growing system that is dirt-less, portable, and sustainable. These gardens grow delicious vegetables fast and are easy to use. Darren connected with Tower Gardens and thus began his path towards promoting health for a living.
Upon meeting Lisa in the summer of 2014, Darren was drawn to the catchy Veggiecation theme song (it absolutely gets stuck in your head!) as well as Lisa’s shared passion for spreading the word about vegetables and all the good they can do for you!
Since the summer, Darren has been making connections in his surrounding community and working with local businesses to bring Veggiecation to children. His most recent class at a YoFresh, a yogurt shop in Hatfield, PA, earned him a wonderful review on Montgomery County Moms. You can click here to read the article, but the below images were taken by the mommy blogger who attended the event! The writer was especially impressed with Darren’s ability to include a wide age range of children (ages 2-8) in the cooking process!

While the older participants assist with the chopping!
In addition to his sharing his passion for veggies, Darren works as a voice actor (we bet the kids love that!), as a business news correspondent, health educator, and writer. Living in Lansdale Pennsylvania, he says that he finds Evansburg State Park peaceful and transforming. For anyone in the Philly area, contact Darren for some veggie filled fun!
What has been the best thing about your Veggiecation training? and VEN membership?
The fact that you have instant access to all of the VEN resources as well as real people like Nina and Lori who are committed to the success of Veggiecators.
What's your favorite anecdote about an especially cute or picky child?
Well during our Cucumber Yogurt Dip class we actually had a nine month old baby mixing the ingredients in the bowl!
What are your favorite recipes to use?
It’s hard to narrow it down but I’m really looking forward to doing a “Sweetheart Smoothie” recipe for a Valentine’s themed class.
